My therapeutic style is warm, active and non-judgmental. When you feel relaxed and comfortable, it becomes easier to access your brain’s creative function. When it comes to therapy, no one technique fits for everyone. My years of experience allow me to combine a variety of theories and tools to fit each person’s unique personality and situation. Throughout my career as a therapist, I have been fortunate to learn from leaders in the fields of depression and anxiety treatment and relationship therapy. Most recently, I have become certified as a Gottman Couples Therapist. This is an effective and exciting approach to the treatment of couples that is based on 30 years of research with over 3,000 couples. Among the other theories and tools that I’ve found useful are cognitive-behavioral therapy, focusing (for decision making and problem solving), self-acceptance therapy, and the practice of mindfulness. I also specialize in the treatment of post-traumatic stress and have advanced training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).
